A Patient Participation Group is a group of patients who are interested in their healthcare and general practice surgery. The aim of a group should be to share information and ideas about the practice and wider local health services. This should help to give patients the best possible services for the needs of the whole practice population. Patient groups work in conjunction with staff and doctors at the practice.
The Spinney Patient Forum
The Spinney Patient Forum is our patient participation group which was formed in 2009. The group meets approximately 4 times a year and have discussed a number of issues over the last 12 months including telephone access, waiting room issues and the appointments system. A very successful charity coffee morning was organised by the group for the Macmillan Cancer charity. A newsletter is produced by the group following their meetings.
If you would like to be involved with the group or would like to raise any issues to be discussed by the group please contact Mrs Gillian Lucas, patient care adviser at reception.
