Teaching and Training

We are a training practice and regularly have GP in Training and Medical Students attached to the practice.

We are a Post Graduate training practice and have GPs in training working at the practice. These are attached to the practice for between 4 and 12 months. We can have up to 3 GPs in training at any one time. These are doctors who are fully qualified with a number of years experience already in hospital and clinic settings. They are completing their specialist training in general practice under the supervision of the doctors at the Spinney.

We are also an Undergraduate training practice affiliated to the University of Liverpool. We have up to 5 final year medical students attached to the practice each year for up to 7 weeks each. Students are not yet fully qualified doctors. Students initially see patients alone and are then joined by one of the doctors from the Spinney to fully review the patient and agree on a plan for treatment. This is a very important component of their training.
